My name is Curtis Hed and I love to play board games with my family and friends. I especially enjoy playing well thought out games that require just enough strategy to keep everyone involved in the game.
With this in mind I started working on Triathlon: A run-based family-friendly card game that is fun to play. Its unique game play and card sets require good thinking skills, and just enough cruelty, to make it a fun way to relax with family and friends (or, play with real triathlon competitors the night before the big race).
As for the name Triathlon:
For those of you who are into cycling or running in real triathlons, I am the youngest brother of Steven Hed. Steve was a great brother who also happened to be the inventor of HED wheels (the high-performance carbon fiber wheels you find on performance bicycles) and founder of HED Cycling Products.
It was as a tribute to my brother, to his work and his success in the world of cycling, that I first started working on a Triathlon-themed card game. What I ended up with is a game where you need to complete three stages to win, and the suits in the game are runners, swimmers, and cyclists, but that is where similarities end (this is not a triathlon simulation game).
For years, this game in its various forms has been enjoyed by family and friends. And now, after years of perfecting it, I am ready to share it with the world.
